The male occupant of the vehicle is unconscious with serious injuries and entrapped in the car which is believed to have hit a tree.
The CQ RESCUE helicopter with a doctor, paramedic and air crewman on board left Mackay airport at 5.20pm. It is expected they will reach the scene in approximately 30 minutes
The Fitzroy Developmental Road is commonly used by miners travelling to and from work between Mackay and Dysart/Middlemount areas. It’s not yet known if the occupant of the vehicle is a mine employee or the direction in which he was heading
