Lost Kayaker

The RACQ – CQ RESCUE helicopter launched from Mackay Airport at 5.22pm, tasked by the Whitsunday Water Police in search of a kayaker.

The kayaker was paddling between the Goldsmith Group of Islands and Cape Conway when he radioed for help saying his kayak was sinking. It took approximately 20 minutes for the CQ RESCUE helicopter to reach the Goldsmith Group and will track back towards Cape Conway in the hope of finding the kayaker.
