RACQ CQ Rescue on task

January 14 2010

The RACQ – CQ RESCUE helicopter has just returned to its Mackay base after attending a cardiac arrest at Dalrymple Bay and have now been tasked to an active beacon near Swain Reef.

The dory with one person on board is 320 kilometres South East of Mackay and 240 kilometres from Rockhampton and has been separated from the mother ship which is currently 2 hours away from the dory.

A search and rescue Dornier is also in the area but the RACQ – CQ RESCUE helicopter is necessary if a winch is required.

UPDATE: RACQ – CQ RESCUE has been stood-down in relation to the search and rescue at Swain Reef – they are not needed at this stage. The Dornier will locate the dory which will be retrieved by the mother ship.
