The RACQ CQ RESCUE has again had a busy day with the retrieval of a Japanese tourist in her late twenties who took ill on Hamilton Island. The rescue crew arrived back a Mackay Airport with the patient and an interpreter around 4pm this afternoon. From there they were taken to the Mater Hospital in Mackay by road ambulance.
After refuelling the RACQ CQ RESCUE helicopter was on its way to Nebo where a 14 year old female has been injured on a property. Its thought her leg injuries were sustained in a bike accident although the crew were unable to give full details before their departure.
The RACQ CQ RESCUE crew has also been alerted to an active beacon located off the coast of Yeppoon but at this stage they have not received confirmation that the services of the RACQ CQ RESCUE helicopter will be required.
The RACQ CQ RESCUE helicopter plays a vital role in our community.
