At 8.20am this morning the RACQ – CQ RESCUE helicopter in Mackay was notified of a tasking to a motor vehicle accident near Capella in the Bowen Basin.
The accident has occurred on a road near Capella which is approximately 250km from Mackay. Early information indicates one person is unconscious but it is not known if this person is the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The RACQ CQ RESCUE crew left Mackay Airport at 8.30am and will go directly to the accident scene. It’s expected the flight will take about 1hour 15mins before the helicopter is on scene.
