
Dr Peter Bastable Chairman (Mater Intermediate Medical Service). Although working in private practice now, Peter has worked extensively in Accident and Emergency situations earning vast experience with trauma patients. He has also flown with the emergency crew on rescue missions and happily dedicates his time freely to RACQ CQ RESCUE. He joined the Board of RACQ CQ RESCUE in 1994 and has been Chairman since the resignation of John Bird in 2004.

Dr Bert Sadleir (Mackay Base Hospital – Emergency Department). Dr Sadleir is highly skilled in trauma situations and up until doctors were assigned to RACQ CQ RESCUE on a permanent basis he was a regular member of the rescue crew. He has been credited with providing vital medical care to many patients on board the rescue helicopter. Working with trauma patients on a day to day basis, Bert is well aware of the need for the rescue service. He was a foundation member of the company, chairing the meeting which elected the first Board in 1994. Bert joined the RACQ CQ RESCUE Board as a member in 2004.

Pat Crompton (Retired Mackay City Council CEO). Pat joined the Board of RACQ CQ RESCUE in 2003 and proudly supports the rescue service by regularly attending meetings and PR functions. His experience and input during this time has been an asset to the operations of RACQ CQ RESCUE.

Bill Cooper (Bill Cooper & Associates). Bill joined the RACQ CQ RESCUE Board in early 2006. A retired Solicitor, Bill’s input and legal expertise has been a huge benefit to RACQ CQ RESCUE. Bill is currently a consultant to the respected local legal firm of Bill Cooper & Associates and is an avid supporter of numerous charities.

Chris Wright (Brown & Bird). Chris, along with Bert became a Board Member in 2004. As a partner in a major Mackay accountancy firm, he brings his financial expertise to the table.
All Board Members donate their time free of charge and happily contribute to the rescue service. They meet once a month to discuss RACQ CQ RESCUE business and make themselves available for public relations exercises and other duties when required.

The RACQ CQ RESCUE crew was tasked to search for an active beacon earlier today. Once in the air the EPIRB signal was tracked by the rescue crew to Proserpine.
The RACQ CQ RESCUE helicopter plays a vital role in our community.
