Isaac Plains Coal on board with RACQ CQ Rescue
Isaac Plains Coal began their Major Sponsor relationship with RACQ CQ Rescue in late 2007, when a worker at the coal mine needed to be airlifted from Moranbah to Townsville in July that year after suffering post-operative complications. Isaac Plains Coal Operations Manager Jason McCallum said, “we really want to support those organisations that have a direct and positive effect on the communities we operate near. Being the closest mine to Moranbah (the largest town in the Bowen Basin), we want to make a positive impact on the area and cement ourselves as valued members of the community.” RACQ CQ Rescue Chief Executive Officer Phil Dowler said, “CQ Rescue is a priceless community resource which comes with a heavy operational pricetag. Without the support of sponsors like Isaac Plains Coal, RACQ CQ Rescue would face real struggles in trying to stay in the air for the benefit of everyone in the community.” In 2012, RACQ CQ Rescue will have an approximate annual operating cost of $6million. With a service area more than four times the size of Tasmania, RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter service relies on the generosity of the local community to keep it flying. The essential purpose of RACQ CQ Rescue is to reduce loss of life, reduce the likelihood of permanent neurological or physical impairment as an outcome of acute illness or severe trauma, and to reduce the number of days in which emergency patients need to spend in hospital. |
